Gynecological Surgery

NRMC gynecologists perform the latest surgical procedures to treat conditions of the female reproductive system  For example, they offer thermal ablation as an alternative to hysterectomy to treat excessive menstrual bleeding.  Gynecologists also treat uterine cancer, ovarian cysts; bladder suspension surgery and other conditions.

Cesarean Section or C-Section Births

A cesarean section, or c-section is the delivery of a baby through a surgical incision in the mother’s abdomen and uterus.  In certain circumstances, a c-section is scheduled in advance. In others, it is done in response to an unforeseen complication.

Why would I have a planned c-section?

Sometimes it is clear that a woman will need a cesarean even before she goes into labor.  This is a decision that will be planned between you and your physician. NRMC policy allows elective deliveries no sooner than 38 weeks, for the well-being of the baby and mother.
