NRMC Welcomes New Physician
Nevada Regional Medical Center (NRMC) is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. John M. Fox to its medical staff. His internal medicine and pediatrics clinic will open full-time in the NRMC Professional Practice Clinic at 800 S. Ash beginning January 16.
“Dr. Fox is well-liked by his patients and we are glad to have him on board,” said Steve Branstetter, Chief Executive Officer at NRMC. “His coming will fill a need in the community for a pediatrician and provide continuity in internal medicine as Dr. Lovinger retires at the end of the year.”
Dr. Fox grew up in Kansas City, Ks and first attended college at Pittsburg State University where he earned a bachelor of science in biology. He earned a medical degree from the University of Kansas, School of Medicine in 1994 and completed his residency training there in 1998. Dr. Fox is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
Upon completion of his training, Dr. Fox was employed by Mercy Hospital of Fort Scott. When the hospital closed, his practice moved to Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Ks. Making the move to Nevada along with Dr. Fox will be his two primary nurses, Diana Stoughton and Candy Gillen, who have worked with Dr. Fox for 21 years.
“I’m excited to work with an organization that wants to work with us, growing the practice and helping the community,” Dr. Fox said. “I have many patients from the area, but some weren’t able to continue seeing me in Pittsburg. I hope that I’ll get to take care of them again.”
As a doctor who specializes in pediatrics and internal medicine, Dr. Fox sees all ages and treats many conditions. He enjoys a fast-paced work environment, but will also take time to get to know his patients.
“I do want my patients to know that I’m there for them. I’m also excited to be able to provide in-patient care daily again,” says Dr. Fox.
Dr. Fox enjoys sports, traveling and spending time with his family including his wife and children, the youngest of which is two and the oldest is 19. As a long-time Fort Scott resident, he is familiar with Nevada and looks forward to getting to know even more people from the community.
