NRMC Pharmacy Earns Best Practice Award

8/30/2018

Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS), the nation’s leading provider of pharmacy management services, awarded Nevada Regional Medical Center a 2018 Best Practice Award for outstanding pharmacy performance.  The award was presented during Comprehensive Pharmacy Services’ Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana in May.

“On behalf of the entire NRMC Pharmacy Department, we are honored to receive this award," said Jodee Mashek, Pharmacy Director at NRMC. “This is the equivalent of earning an A++ on a final college exam.  NRMC has an incredible team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians that are often the unrecognized team member of patient care.  We are responsible for accurate medication management which encompasses everything from formulary cost control to the end product reaching the patient safely. The Nevada Community should feel comforted in knowing that the NRMC Department of Pharmacy is ranked in the top 5% of over 700 CPS Hospital Pharmacies.”

The CPS Best Practice Award is given annually to recognize the CPS sites that achieve a 95% overall compliance score or better on our annual operations audit known.   This audit is a thorough review of hospital pharmacy practices, reviewing over 300 performance measures.  This audit is one of the tools and analyses used by CPS to optimize regulatory, operational, clinical and purchasing performance.

“As the leader in pharmacy management services, each year CPS recognizes the top hospitals and health systems in the country for extraordinary pharmacy performance that makes a difference for patients, hospitals and the U.S. health system overall,” said Calvin Johnson, CEO of CPS.  “This year we are particularly pleased to acknowledge the hard work, talent, expertise and dedication of the team at Nevada Regional Medical Center”.
