NRMC Relocations Complete Nevada Regional Medical Center has completed the department moves and renovations of Health Information Services and the Medical Staff Lounge. Both offices were formerly located on the first floor of the South tower, next to the Specialty Clinic. They are now located on the first floor of the Medical Arts building in the space where outpatient rehabilitation services used to be. This relocation will provide for the consolidation of medical records to one area and the expansion of the Specialty Clinic. “If you’ve ever been to the hospital on a day a specialist is here, you can see the patient over flow in the hallway. We needed space to accommodate these doctors and their patients,” Said Michelle Casey, Clinical Operations Director for NRMC. “When we opened Performance Therapy, those departments left some very accessible space for the changes.” Health Information Services, also known as Medical Records, received some updated storage shelves in their new space. The shelves were purchased to meet regulation and to improve accessibility. The Medical Staff lounge was moved to join with Medical Records. This is to provide the physicians easy access to records to perform their documentation. “We are making some very positive changes at NRMC. In order to make it through a tough economic time, you have to think towards the future,” Said Judy Feuquay, President and CEO. “Our Specialty Clinic provides access to physicians that people would have to travel out of town to see. We are working hard to grow the varieties of services to meet the needs of our community.” In 2010, NRMC has added to the already extensive list of specialty services; and the list is still growing. In March, Dr. Anne Winkler, Rheumatologist joined NRMC and is providing services at the NowCare Clinic once a month. In April, Dr. Chris Andrew, Neurologist joined as well and provides services twice a month at the hospital. As their clinic schedules fill up, both doctors appear to be meeting the needs of the community. “We will continue to recruit for more types of doctors. We’ve done extensive research into the health needs of our community and we recruit based on the statistics,” Feuquay said.
