NRMC Initiates Professional Practice Clinic
Starting with general surgeon, Dr. Joseph Dodd, Nevada Regional Medical Center has begun to fill new physician offices on the second floor of the NRMC South Tower; now known as the Professional Practice Clinic. The PPC is currently under construction. Once remodeled, it will accommodate the many new physicians and services arriving at NRMC.
“We’re working quickly to make the Professional Practice Clinic a nice place for our physicians to practice and patients to visit.” Doug Hundley, Director of Plant Operations and Maintenance said.
Physician recruitment has been a focal point for NRMC for the past several months. The hospital has hired two psychiatrists and a general surgeon. OB/GYN, Dr. David Dugger from Joplin will arrive in early summer and will be a member of the PPC. He will compliment the services provided by family practice and OB physicians, Drs. Heather Russell and Jennifer Conley.
Edward Handyside, M.D. will join NRMC upon completion of his family medicine residency in Toledo, Ohio in late summer. Dr. Handyside will compliment the services of Dr. Dan Barnes, working in the satellite clinics, Emergency Department and as a hospitalist.
The surrounding communities’ need for greater access to specialty care has also prompted the addition of services to the NRMC Specialty Services Clinic. Rheumatologist, Dr. Anne Winkler began visiting the NowCare Clinic in late February and neurologist Chris Andrew, M.D. will hold his first of monthly visits on Friday, April 2 at the Specialty Clinic. To make an appointment with Dr. Andrew, call (417) 448-3642.
“We have lots of new things to look forward to at NRMC,” said Judy Feuquay, President/CEO. “We’ve done extensive research to asses the healthcare needs of our local communities and we’re working diligently to bring those services to NRMC. Bringing on these doctors is just another step in the right direction.” |
