NRMC Foundation Receives Generous Donation
Dr. Micaela Wexler, a Psychiatrist at the Nevada Regional Medical Center’s New Beginnings Behavioral Health program made a generous contribution of $5,000 to the NRMC Foundation in December.
“I was deciding what my charity would be for the year and I thought what a better place to give than right here at home. The foundation does great things for healthcare in our community. I feel very privileged and honored to be able to make this contribution,” stated Wexler.
In 2011, the NRMC Foundation purchased 2 new all-wheel drive SUVs for the Home Health department of the hospital. This was to ensure that nursing and rehabilitative staff could reach the patients homes in any weather. The Foundation contributes to help purchase much needed medical equipment for the hospital on an annual basis. They hold several fundraisers throughout the year to achieve their goals.
To start the year off, they hold the Caring with Pride Golf Classic in May. This year will be the 9th annual event. Next is the 2nd annual Highway to Health Motorcycle Poker Run held in September. Then, there is the 7th annual Gala in October. This event has a different theme every year. Finally, they celebrate the Tree of Shining Memories in December, and an Annual Appeal from December through January.
