NRMC Bids Farewell to Chaplain Kim Osborn
Nevada Regional Medical Center held a farewell reception for Pastor Kim Osborn on Friday, July 23. Osborn, pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church will be leaving Nevada to continue her pastoral duties at a congregation in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Osborn has a significant history with NRMC. She is one of two original members of the NRMC Chaplaincy Program. She helped to establish the program in January 2006 by writing the policies and forming a task force. Osborn also helped develop the training program for the new chaplains and has been the co-trainer since the first session. Pastor Osborn was the first primary chaplain on-call for NRMC and has been the program’s biggest promoter, recruiting new clergy. She also assisted with and provided the first annual “Blessing of the Hands” ceremony to hospital volunteers and staff during National Hospital Week each May.
Susie Bernhardt, Director of Social Services at NRMC facilitates the Chaplaincy Program and works very closely with the chaplains. “Pastor Kim has been a blessing to NRMC and the community and will be greatly missed.” Bernhardt said. |
