New Beginnings Strutured Outpatient Program
CONCERNED ABOUT SOMEONES MENTAL HEALTH?
Whether you are a concerned family member of someone having emotional difficulties, or a professional care giver, and know of a patient or resident who may benefit from psychiatric care, you should be aware of the Structured Outpatient Program for Behavioral Health Services at Nevada Regional Medical Center.
THE PROGRAM
The Structured Outpatient Program is a medically supervised program tailored to meet the individual needs of adult patients requiring intense psychiatric support, but who does not need the acute treatment of an inpatient psychiatric facility. It is a less costly, less restrictive and more flexible alternative to full hospitalization, but offers a more structured and intense treatment program than periodic outpatient therapy. The Program provides psychiatric treatment to patients who are able to remain in the community but require daily support and stabilization. It also serves as an important transitional resource between discharge from inpatient care and reintegration to full community life.
THE SERVICES
The Structured Outpatient Program focuses on enhancing the patient’s skills and resources to foster independence, self-confidence and self-reliance. The multi-disciplinary treatment program focuses on the individual patient to determine an individualized treatment and discharge plan. The plan includes recommendations for aftercare, follow up and community resource integration.
Specific services provided by the program include:
· Individual counseling
· Group Psychotherapy
· Family Therapy
· Relationship Therapy
· Psychological Testing
· Medication Management
· Psychiatric Evaluations
· Assessments
· Interventions
· Consultation Liaison
· Dual Diagnosis
LENGTH OF STAY
A patient’s length of stay is based on his or her individual needs as determined by a treatment team of experienced, professional staff including a physician medical director.
FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS
The Structured Outpatient Program is usually covered by insurance companies, including Medicare and Medicaid.
REFERRALS AND ASSESSMENTS
Referrals may be made by physicians, nurses, family members, clergy, nursing and rest homes, social workers or others concerned about the welfare of a given individual. Individuals may also inquire about the program on their own behalf. All patients are assessed by a psychiatrist and licensed therapist as part of the admissions process.
