 | Annie Thorpe
Occupational Therapist
Annie follows a strong family tradition of healthcare. Her grandmother was an RN and her mother is a BSN, studying for her Master's degree. Annie graduated from Nevada High School. She received her Master's degree of Occupational Therapy at Kansas University.
Day after day, Annie helps build life skills. From young children struggling to adjust to school, to adults recovering from work injuries or disabilities, an Occupation Therapists works with people of all ages. Annie helps people who have lost or never gained the ability to do daily tasks often taken for granted by others. These activities may include bathing, feeding or even getting in and out of a car. She guides them on a journey to regain normal life and independence through personalized exercise and specialized strength and coordination building techniques.
She says the hardest part of her job is being the only Occupational Therapist in Nevada. "I need to consistently maintain a strong knowledge so that I can work with any type of condition." Annie also said that the most satisfying part of her career is the daily interaction with patients and the impact she makes on their lives by helping them achieve quality of life.
