Andrea Mogan Respiratory Therapist Andrea realized her enthusiasm for helping people get better during high school, when she took her grandmother to get an x-ray. Later, she spent two years at Missouri Southern State University to receive her certification as a respiratory therapist. Now she helps patients who have breathing problems such as asthma or other irregularities in lung function as well as heart-related conditions. Andrea uses a variety of machines to help patients such as ventilators and nebulizors to facilitate breathing. She also uses the EKG machine and checks pulse and blood oxygen levels. While her favorite part of her job is helping patients become well enough to leave the hospital, she also has to console family members when more serious conditions occur. Back
